Renal & Oxalate complete dietetic feed is specially adapted to the needs of cats with chronic renal insufficiency. It contains a limited protein content and reduced phosphorus to lessen the burden on the kidneys. The proteins used are of high quality. In addition, Renal & Oxalate contains an extra high energy level, so that in case of reduced appetite the cat needs to eat a smaller amount to meet its daily energy requirements. The dietetic feed Renal & Oxalate is also specially formulated to reduce the formation of calcium oxalate crystals. The use of potassium citrate has an alkalising effect on urinary pH, which reduces calcium excretion in the urine. Furthermore, the excretion of citrate in the urine promotes calcium binding.
