Preparing an elimination diet for your dog or cat yourself can be a complicated task. The special animal proteins prescribed by the veterinarian are generally difficult to obtain, and weighing and preparing the food is time-consuming. As an exception within the Unique Protein range, for cats it is recommended to use the Unique Protein (Rabbit) variant without adding a source of carbohydrates. In cats, by following the feeding guideline using only Unique Protein (Rabbit), an optimal protein-to-energy ratio is achieved. Adding a source of carbohydrates in addition to the recommended amount of Unique Protein (Rabbit) may result in excessive energy intake.
