Renal & Oxalate is a complete dietetic food specially adapted to the needs of dogs with chronic renal insufficiency. It contains a limited level of protein and a reduced amount of phosphorus to lessen the burden on the kidneys. The proteins used are of high quality. In addition, Renal & Oxalate provides a high energy supply, so that dogs with a reduced appetite can consume a smaller quantity while still meeting their daily energy requirements.
Renal & Oxalate is also specially formulated to reduce the formation of calcium oxalate crystals. The use of potassium citrate increases urinary pH, thereby reducing calcium excretion in the urine. At the same time, citrate excretion in the urine promotes calcium binding. Renal & Oxalate contains a sufficient amount of vitamin B6, thus preventing the risk of oxalate formation as a result of vitamin B6 deficiency.
